The FROG F240 Ventura
Here it is, thanks to Jeff Garrity, the Rare-Plane Detective, and some people slower than me (and that's saying something) when his newest catalog came out ....
An original and rare (1 of 100) pure-bred FROG F240 Ventura test-shot kit, complete with H1 box, dark blue parts, decals, but no instructions -- from 1977.
You can read the pedigree in Lines & Hellstrom.
And rather than hide it in my stash, I'll build it for the upcoming Frog GB in September. Thankfully others have gone before me and I have found a set of Novo instructions here on UAMF, courtesy of member 'Novokits'. The decals appear OK, I've certainly seen worse, but I think I'll look for replacements, I'm not sure what my decal stash holds for Pacific theater, although the French scheme looks neat also ....
Lines & Hellstrom indicate this kit was considered for Spin-a-Props and so I might do that also.

Very interesting John. This should make for a great build.

Very cool, John! I saw that but wasn't quick enough...
Would make a great mini-display for Telford....Build, box and photo report, perhaps?

@Paul: Well, I hadn't thought about it before, but have you had a Ventura in Classic Plastic ? Would this one fit ? I could pull it from the GB (and do something else, like the Gannet) ....
@James: would this fit on the Telford table ?

I haven't, and yes, absolutely, John - it would be perfect for CP! Please consider it.jRatz wrote:@Paul: Well, I hadn't thought about it before, but have you had a Ventura in Classic Plastic ? Would this one fit ? I could pull it from the GB (and do something else, like the Gannet) ....

Re: The FROG F240 Ventura
All right, I'll do it for CP; I've owed you at least one for years, which does not give you an excuse to be breathing down my neck on it ....

Definitely, though I expect we will have to post guard on it so no one runs off with the it or the box.jRatz wrote:@James: would this fit on the Telford table ?

Re: The FROG F240 Ventura
There was discussion on a similar topic, the proposed display of a range of restored Penguin models, on the Scale Model Nostalgia forum last week. It was suggested that approval be sought from the SMW organizers for the display to be under a secured perspex cover to ensure that nothing went walkies...JamesPerrin wrote:Definitely, though I expect we will have to post guard on it so no one runs off with the it or the box.jRatz wrote:@James: would this fit on the Telford table ?
