I've obtained an old boxing of the Grumman Duck with the airsea rescue boxart.

Would you like a drink to go with that can of worms you've just opened mate... :ha:

Does it say made in Great Britain (Potters Bar) on the box?

Cheers
Al.

To answer Beanie's question, it does not, however, there was a suspicious alteration of the inside of the wing, where there once WAS something after the (c) Revell there is now mound.
It used to say REVELL GB LTD

Here we have the Spitfire Wing and Bf 109 E Fuselage as an example. Later releases had the tool ground away to remove the GB LTD bit. The Tempest wing has Revell Inc, as you can see, with the date 1962.

Right Brews, that would be a good one but: a) I don't have it, so no decals and 2) I've already built the four planes in the back ground. So, because I've already uploaded it, here's my box art:

Hmmm. It's not a MB but a reboxing of a PM/Pioneer2 kit. This is also Revell artwork that they commissioned when they had rights to use the MB name. http://www.matchboxkits.org/product_inf ... g8cebk91j6;

It's neither Classic or British I'm afraid. :sad:

There is still plenty of time to consider something else.

That's what I thought, but maybe not( http://modelingmadness.com/reviews/alli ... kerd21.htm; )...even so, the box art is a modern-ish addendum, so, not in keeping with the spirit of the theme. Is the box top to be included as part of the display? I have a MB Hellcat but I can't find the box top. I could recreate the scene from images on the net.

Thanks Brews.

I also have this (minus the instruction sheet). I've never done water or background painting so that would be a new learning curve for me.

The Hellcat would be quite challenge! but would make for a very dramatic diorama

http://scale-models.nl/matchbox-hellcat.html;

I think the Walrus would make an excellent display though and would have the advantage of being easier to pack for it's transatlantic trip. :grin: I'm sure you could do something really nice with what is still a very nice kit.

I agree, so would you please make the change in the 'projects list' to read MB Supermarine Walrus: underway.
