I'm finally back home with all my belongings intact and, yes, they did make me pull out the trophy cup for visual inspection in Amsterdam. No problems anywhere else though. I had a fantastic time , being very happy about meeting everybody and correspondingly disappointed that I missed seeing those who stopped by the display while I was out wandering the halls and also, obviously, those who were unable to attend. As you all know, it's virtually impossible to see everything in just two days (and, mind you, I spent almost no time poring through the vendors wares since I didn't have room to pack anything back anyway) so when they expand it into Hall 4, SMW will have to morph into at least a three day event I should think. It's very tiring also innit? Walked my little legs off. Being jet lagged didn't help, but still... Anyways, it was great, so thanks for having me over. I just have a couple of pics: one of the table, one of Lambretta, and one of the Airbus 400M which was mentioned above.

Agreed, Barry - there's just too much to do already and there's been plenty of complaints on other sites about not being able to view the competition area. If IPMS/USA can do a 4-day show, IPMS/UK really should consider a 3-day event. Granted, not everyone CAN do three days, but then that's the same over here. The dedicated find a way. :)

A very well done to all involved , its always good to see the usual supects and meet / put faces to names . I must admit i did feel alittle disapointed that I wasn't actively involvled with the display . As James has mentioned he did apply some pressure to get me to build something for Huddersfield. We shall see.
Once again a very well done to all and to Barry on his prize winner.

It was indeed a very good weekend  but also a very long and tiring one.

My personal highlight was watching the numerous visitors to the display with big grins on their faces and cameras in their hands  as it was the first time i've ever put a piece of my work onto a table i'll admit to a bit of a guilty thrill each time someone shot the Hudson :-D.

It was great to meet up with the team again after such a gap and to meet Barry who, I must say, thoroughly deserved his competition successes. Once again hats off to you sir, truly inspirational 8-)

The standards of all the SIG and branch displays were excellent and on the trading side there were many bargains to be had, although we all noted that in general prices have risen markedly since last year. Still that didn't stop me from adding 13 kits to the already overflowing stash along with a few decal sheets  .

I'm really looking forward to next years Huddersfield show and hopefully I'll be able to help Al with the possible appearence at Cosford as well.

Regards

Tom

This was the first Telford that I've attended both days and I have to say even with the extra driving it was a great weekend.
Our table really stood out and like Tom I could'nt help but grin from all the positive attention.
Meeting the regulars was great as well as some well traveled members such Barry (congratulations again on the win!). My Dad got lots of decent pictures but he forgot to email them before going on holiday...I'll try and post some for when he comes back.

I have to admit my highlight was my daughter Mollie achieving a gold medal in the junior competition. This is her entry -

I'm really proud of her and she is already planning for next year.
Shopping wise I was suprised at some of the high prices but still acquired some CBK. This included a NOVO Magister, Master and Whittle for decent prices and a Special Hobby Sea Hawk for a tenner. Mollie surprised me by buying an Airfix Battle - Is the CBK thing genetic!?

Looking forward to the next show already!

Do you buggers all deliberately wait until I've gone walkies before having a CBK SIG group photo taken - I don't think I've ever been in one

Didn't make the show this year, and having been immersed in other things for a few months also didn't see the preparation going on here for this display... so what a surprise this evening to find pics on another forum of the CBK display. Fabulous - absolutely brilliant - idea and execution both superb. You should all be justifiably proud! Well done chaps.

This one appeared in SAMI I think, from Huddersfield earlier this year. Somebody wake Bruce up!
