Fabulous - absolutely brilliant - idea and execution both superb. You should all be justifiably proud! Well done chaps.
Cheers, Damien!

Bloody hell, you were all right to leave me out of the photos  I take it all back...

Thanks for the comments Damien. I certainly seem to be stumbling over many photos of our display on other forums (although I must admit I've posted many of them myself!).

Cheers

Great display guys, simply the best. Nice to meet some of you, if only briefly. I had intended to come back for a proper chat but there was so much to look at I lost track of time. Next year I am doing an overnighter to benefit from both days, especially if it is going to be bigger.

Just spotted that there is a picture of Barry's Airfix Trophy winning Jetstream in the latest Airfix club magazine (#18).

"A wonderful example of the Airfix Jetstream won the Airfix
trophy. The kit is one of our older ones but you wouldn’t know
that from the brilliant job done!"

No mention of the masses of alterations and corrections Barry made ;-)

There will be both in a forthcoming issue of SAMi, where the model and modeller will be given their due.

...and if that wasn't enough I was very surprised to and heartened to see a picture of the display and the some of the crew (Viking, Barry, Jack, Beany and myself) in the latest IPMS(UK) magazine. There is also a pic of Barry getting his HP Trophy and if you are sharp-eyed you can even spot Jack again elsewhere in the magazine.

I have to say the IPMS magazine gives an excellent overview of the whole SMW show, much better than previous years (honestly, I not just saying that 'cos were weren't in it before! ;-) ).

IPMS/USA devotes a whole issue to the Nationals - have IPMS/UK followed their lead?

Right then, it's a new year, I've been working away from home right over Xmas and New Year so haven't scraped plastic in anger for weeks, and I'm ready to start building for SMW 2012, so can someone get a poll started please...

Cheers
Al.

Well, I just got the Feb 2012 Military in Scale (incorporating Model Aviation World). Their SMW section has two pix -- Hovercraft & Lancaster -- but we're identified as the "Beyond the Box" SIG and supposedly took a Gold Medal ....
