Some models get a completely new lease of life, butchered by the tool makers to frustrate those who never got a chance to buy the original masterpiece.
Old models, replaced in favour by new-tooled upstarts, suddenly sprout an extra cockpit and a new set of decals.

...And then there are those long lost and much missed kits, scoured for on eBay and paid for at model shows in blood, sweat and tears, only to re-appear, all new-ish and shiny, at half the price, in a Revell Germany box.

This Forum aims to provide you with updated bios of all those Classic British Kits...what happened to them during their lifetime and where, if anywhere, are they now.

Following discussion and debate, we hope to be able to bring you detailed information about all of our Classic British Kit makers.
Not only the more obvious Airfix, Matchbox and Frog, but the less well-known, although equally influential, smaller companies, some of whom are still busy today, supplying us with our after market gubbins and specialist kits.
This is intended to be a growing reference work, listing potted histories and product lists, complete with catalogue listings and all of those nerdy details such as the colours of plastic used, the varieies of air crew employed and the joys of working features.

Bruce
