Inpact

Post by JamesPerrin »

Inpact made four interwar fighters and six vintage aircraft that tied in with the film Magnificent Flying machines and in 1/48 scale. When Inpact folded to mould went to the US where they appeared in the Pyro range with some nice new boxart. The kits were at least initially old Inpact stock - the sealed plastic bags had the Inpact decal in them. Subsequently the kits have appeared in Life-Like (circa 1972 when Pyro folded) and to this day in Lindberg boxes.

Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines released 1966:
P101 Bleriot Monoplane 1910
P102 Martin Handasyde
P103 Deperdussin 1911
P104 Avro Triplane 1911
P105 Bristol Boxkite 1911
P106 Avro Biplane 1911

Interwar released 1968:
P201 Gloster Gladiator
P202 Hawker Fury
P203 Bristol Bulldog
P204 Fairey Flycatcher

Love the Boxkite. I've got Life Like issues of the Boxkite and Avro Triplane, if I get the chance to add the other kits I'll snap them up. I've got all the silver wings, which reminds me, I have a Bulldog on the SoD, must do something about it.

I have the four inter-war kits in the LifeLike boxing. The markings are rub-ons and the dark colors bleed over the light. Molds look great.

Bristol Bulldog, using the kit decals:

Built this back in the last century - it's one of my oldest surviving models. It was a pleasant build, as I recall, and I spent forever on the rigging...

And the Martin-Handasyde, built back in 2013:

I also have the other three Inter-War kits in my stash, as well as three of the early birds. Do I smell a possible GB in the wind...?
