CC Wellington Mk XII 'Fishington'

Post by bluesteel »

I'm now sea basing up the Wellington Mk XII, popularly known as the 'Fishington' I built for thw Matchbox Wellington GB. I'm trying an 'action shot of a low level double torpedo drop with one entering the water and another on its way down. Temporarily held in place with Blutak to get the positions right before painting and gluing in place:

Really, what *was* the point of having a little strip of camo at the top of the fuselage like that? You'd think once they'd gone that far they might as well just paint the whole thing white.

Looks good though.

maybe it made enemy fighters think the aircraft was further away than it appeared? Then when they dove on the low flying craft, into the drink they went? :)

By the way Julian, that is a very clever display. I can't wait to see it all painted up.
