I'm leaning towards an Airfix A4
Enjoyment over accuracy. That's my motto

Carrier-borne aircraft is my favorite theme. I have wide choice.. maybe Su-33 or Su-25UTG, maybe Seafires, perhaps Barracuda or AF Guardian.. When we begin?
Re: Naval Aircraft GB - II: ** On 2015 Calendar **
I've got an F-14 lying un-built, but I'm swithering on whether or not to stick to what I know best!

For an ex-RAF type bod I seem to have a lot of aeroplanes which fit this category.
Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Even tho I have plenty of kits which fit this in the pure form, I thought I'd ask an awkward point.Martin R wrote:Just to reiterate, this GB includes:
"Any aircraft, any scale, any time period, as long as it flew off a ship regularly for at least part of it's career.''
Is it the type or particular airframe which flew from ships? I'm thinking in particular of the Buccaneer S2 in RAF colours. They started as Royal Navy and were transferred to the RAF.
I might want to build the Buc I saw crash. It was on a test flight out of an MU, before going from Navy to RAF and it was in RAF grey/green/lt grey.

Good question. I was thinking of this the other night, prompted by the thought that I fancied doing an RNZAF Dauntless, which of course, would have flown from a land base. My original thinking for this GB was: type of aircraft. That would allow e.g. Aggressor A-4s, RAF Buccs, or even, dare I say it, an RNZAF Dauntless.
In your case, not only would the criterion I intended make your choice eligible, it sounds like your particular airframe ". . . on a test flight out of an MU, before going from Navy to RAF" would also qualify under the other interpretation. So, basically, your choice is fine by me!

Martin

Thanks Martin. Its about time I built that Bucc. But I think I'll do it as it was seconds before the crew ejected, not as it was after landing and taking out a factory office.

I'll almost certainly join in with something, even though it's bound to be DNF - Not sure what yet, in the Stash I have...
1/72 Airfix: RA-5C Vigilante, S-3A Viking, F/A-18A Hornet, F4D Skyray and an A-4B Skyhawk.
1/72: Hasegawa: A-4E/F Skyhawk, F9F Panther and an F11-F Tiger.
1/72 Matchbox: F9F-4 Panther and an A-7E Corsair II (Converted from a D)
1/72 Italeri: F4U Corsair (Korean War)
1/72 Academy: F-8E Crusader
As you can see I have a bit of a USN thing going on…
Cheers
Stuart

After a bit more thought, I think I'm going to try an Airfix boxing of the 1/48th Otaki / Arii Hellcat F6F-3 . . . and maybe also a Dauntless.
