Re: Eric 'Winkle' Brown Memorial GB ** On 2016 Calendar **
Time for a bump reminder
Oh how time flies by. I thought I'd bumped this recently,
Basic rules
1: Any of the types or marks of types Captain Eric 'Winkle' Brown flew during his career
2: If possible [see note below] the model to have the exact markings
3: One type/mark of aircraft to each modeller; a modeller can do as many aircraft types or marks he/she chooses but no-one else may do that same aircraft type then. As there are 487 types, and loads of individual marks and only a few of us there are plenty to go around.
Date; November 19th - December 18th
Names and declared subjects.
1. fredk................Fairey Gannet
2. Purplethistle ......1/16 Winkle, RATO Seafire
3. dwomby............TBD
4. lancfan.............Fieseler Storch AM101.
5. Dazzled ............Me163
6. Kitaholic ...........Sea Meteor
7. iggie ................Shackleton
8. Old_Tonto .........BV141
9. MarkyM607........TBD
10 splash..............TBD
11 Gregers.............TBD
12 beany...............TBD
12a SBO ..............Sea Vampire
14 jRatz .............. Sikorsky R-4B
15 59North ...........Piper Tripacer
16 Gadfly..............Messerscmitt BFW108 B-2
A note on colours and markings;
It will be nice to have the aeroplane in the exact colours and markings of the example which Captain Brown flew but as it is very near impossible to identify a great many of them then a representative version is very acceptable.

I've not bought it yet but I recommend this canopy masking set available thru Hannants.
A big outlay in one go but if it does more than 6 kits [and it will do dozens] then you are ahead

I'm still in with a Wildcat - I mean "Martlet".
I've got "Wings on my Sleeve" as my current audiobook on Audible - it's a cracking read/listen, if anyone hasn't already partaken.

Best of luck with that Bv 141... I saw somebody else build one of those and they had a hell of a time getting the canopy to look right! Though I have faith!!!

I'm still in with my slightly started Meng 1/32nd Me163 which, conveniently, comes with markings for the aircraft flown by the great man.
