Mustang GB?

Post by DazDaMan »

I'm talking the flying variety, of course. Not the car or the equine types!

Any kit, any scale, so long as it's a variant of the North American P-51. There's plenty space towards the end of next year, so let's fill it up!

Also, it would give me a reason to build a couple!

Just to let you know, the new GB guidelines will require 8 sign-ups and limit scheduling to 6 months out.
I will also be requiring they be more focused and not just a generic aircraft type build.

John, the "any scale, any make" format has worked in the past- do you include this format as an "unfocused " group build? If so would it be acceptable if the scale or make(s) of kit was specified? do we need to state an historical period for the subjects, such as Post WW2 or WW2 only? Should we state if Whiffs are allowed? will your answers also apply to the other single type GBs about to begin in the coming months and do we GBLs need to amend these other threads now?

I think John's post is a broad reminder of the new guidelines.

Just accessed the GB guidlines thread James and they still quote the 6 builder minimum from 2012 throughout the text so I think I must stand by my questions as I am leading a number of GBs which are about to start this coming first quarter.

The new guidelines have not been posted; they are in final review & edit by the Admin Team.
All GB's currently on the 2015 Calendar will be grandfathered, except they must have 8 to start.
An announcing note will highlight changes.

I'm in......

Maybe to make it a little less generic, we should specify any Mustang variant prefixed with a 'P' :-D
Best wishes

How about Merlin-engined Mustangs only (as I have one in the stash :ha: ) ?

A few ideas-

Post-War Mustangs.
Surviving Mustangs.
Pacific Theatre Mustangs.
ETO Mustangs.
Perhaps we could vote on all the ideas offered to get the most popular
