I'm still up for this with the aforementioned Bird dog and a set of Auster wings, some plastic card and probably more filler than the undercarriage will hold.

Well, I think I'm going to shift projects in order to reduce my CBK SIG backlog and go with a conversion of the Airfix 1911 Rolls to a WW1 armored car.

Re: One thing into another conversion GB ** On 2016 Calendar
Having used my Spitfire IIa LR conversion set in the Every Mark of Spitfire GB, I may convert an Airfix Grumman Duck J2F6 into the J2F4 using a Starfighter Decals resin conversion set (it has a different engine, and a much shorter cowling). If I can find the conversion set

After my current Spitathon, I don't know whether I'm still up for hacking around the twin seat Frog Do 335 into a single seat version. Maybe a Heller Tempest V into a I using the Jay's models conversion instead? Although given the hardness of JM's plastic, maybe there's not much in it!

Not sure if this is eligible. Hunter T.7 into the planned P.1130 interceptor with Firestreak missiles. I have the Freightdog resin conversion set with new nose and missiles. Might be too much of a What-If for this GB?

Andrew,
Strictly by the rules, it's eligible. I would have no particular issue with you so doing. A couple of my potential builds eg Tempest I, Vampire I are likely to have 'whif' colour schemes at least.
Anyone else have a view?

As I see it, they key is conversion. Reality of the subject doesn't really matter.Martin R wrote:Strictly by the rules, it's eligible.
Speaking strictly for myself, I would appreciate an image of the original and converted subjects at the start, to make it clear where you're starting from, and where you intend to go, again, regardless of whether either end of the process ever existed for real. Anyone going for a conversion should have enough reference material lying around anyway, so this should be easy.

Me, too - I'm going to convert the 54mm British Guardsman kit into a Royal Marine, circa 1805.
