2016 F4U Corsair GB- *** Complete & Archived ***
Do we fancy building the F4U corsair next year? lots of colour schemes, good choice of kits & plenty of after market decals to work with.

Re: F4U Corsair GB next year anyone???
Just figured out I donated my Tamiya 48th F4U-1A with many goodies, several years ago; knew I'd never really get around to it.
I do have the Revell 72nd -1D, but I need to check if I need a birdcage for a specific project of local interest.
So, yes, maybe ....

Re: F4U Corsair GB next year anyone???
Tempting, but I've not had much luck with Corsairs in the past. My first Tamiya kit was going extremely well. Beautifully detailed cockpit (took ages), superb all over assembly and meticulous masking...... The bloody thing melted when I painted it.
I managed to rescue some parts and bought a second one. Spent a long time getting this up to standard. Painted it, using a different brand of paint. Achieved a beautiful USN dark blue all over. Let it dry and started decalling in stages. I was really proud of this so far. Then Mrs Dazzled decided to play catch with our German Shepherd. Guess what happened next? The ball knocked over a bottle that fell onto my bench, squarely onto the almost complete Corsair!
I was not impressed. It was quite close to a divorce situation.
That was back in the 1990s and I haven't attempted a Corsair since although, being asucker for punishment eternal optimist, I do have another Tamiya kit currently acting as loft insulation.
Maybe

I've never built a Corsair before, so might be tempted.

Yes, I'd be keen David. I have the Hasegawa kit that needs building....and maybe an Egg Plane to go with it.
Must.....build....ALL the Sopwith Camels!...

Sure. In a F4U frame of mind

Depending on timing, yes. Who doesn't need another bent wing bird (or two) in the cabinet?

Re: F4U Corsair GB next year anyone???
I would do at least one.
A good model is any model you can walk away from.
Re: F4U Corsair GB next year anyone???
I'd go for this, have the old Revell kit that keeps poking it's head into the model room, only to be forced out by another British Project kit!!.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

Re: F4U Corsair GB next year anyone???
I just acquired another Tamiya Corsair. Mrs Dazzled recognised it immediately.
