Yes, we are still on. I expect John will set up the thread on the GB forum sometime within the next week as we start Jan 30.

I am currently debating whether to try building the Mbox Victor or to chicken out and do something smaller - maybe a Lynx AH7.

I am still in although I have 3 new review kits on their way so will probably end up with quite a mess on the desk as this all happens.

Anyone familiar with the camo'd Chinooks from Operation Granby?

I have some pics but have been told the code letters were not in play during the conflict.

Also that they were fitted with miniguns in the front stations but not sure the fit on the ramp.

Any help appreciated.

Glad you're with us.

Do you mean the ones with black squiggles all over the desert pink? I'll have a look but meanwhile you may want to troll through the pics on this site: dstorm.eu. It has thousands of pics of Desert Storm aircraft of all coalition nations. Here's the RAF Chinook page http://dstorm.eu/pages/en/gb/chinook.html. At the bottom of the page it talks about the code letters.

David,
Yep, one of the ones with the extra black camo added for Spec Ops missions.

Thanks also for the link. I have had that in my bookmarks for many years but just looked and they have added a bunch of new pics to the Chinook page since my last visit.

This of course brings up another question. Most of the published pics were after they had returned to England and they pretty much all had the cone air filter on the engines but now I hear and see pics of the EARPS filters. Did all of them get the EARPS during Granby or not. And if so, now I need to see if there are any aftermarket bits so I don't have to try and make them myself. I got the Big Ed set for the later version of the Chinook and had planned to take the filters out of it for this build but now might have to rethink.

Looks like the Aviation Workshop made what I need, product CS-118 but I believe they are no longer in business.

Anybody have a set they are willing to part with or know where I can source them from?

Can't help you with that, I'm afraid. Good luck with it.

I have similar issue if I do a Lynx AH7. I have exhaust diffuser boxes but not the sand intake filters. Does anybody actually make the sand intake filters for the 1/72 Lynx?

Looks like I'm a non starter for this sadly. If things change I will join in if that's ok?

Sorry to hear that, Toby. I hope all is well and, of course, you're more than welcome to join later if you can.

Whilst sorting through my 'extras' boxes I've come across an Aeroclub set of ; flare dispensers and over wing hardpoints with ALE40 for a Jaguar. Obtained years ago in a job lot I can now use them on a subject.
