Op'n Musketeer 60th Anniv The Suez Crisis ** GB Archived **

Post by iggie »

Following on from my recent GB of a De Havilland Sea Hawk in 'Suez' markings, it occurred to me that the Anniversary of this forgotten 'war' is next year in November.
A whole host of aircraft, ships and vehicles were involved from British and French armed forces, and from the Egyptian forces as well, which should give ample opportunity for all to get involved, irrespective largely of your usual genre of modelling...... :-D

On the aircraft side alone, you could choose from:
DH Sea Venom
DH Sea Hawk
F4U Corsair (French)
Whirlwind Helicopter
Westland Wyvern
Hawker Hunter
Vickers Valletta
Vickers Valiant (Now there's a chance to shine someone!)
Hastings
Beverley
Gloster Meteor
Douglas Skyraider

and lots more besides....
Plus Naval vessels and Tanks, armoured vehicles, soft-skins etc. etc.

Anyone interested?
Best wishes

Jim
If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

I hate bees and wasps but aircraft with black and yellow stripes sounds good to me, I'm in. probably with something carrying blue stars.

All the best.

Thus my comment on blue stars. An Israeli P51 would be interesting. As would a Meteor.

In my decal stash some place I have this decal sheet. http://www.aviationmegastore.com/forgot ... art=106368; I will have to go searching for it now.

All the best.

Just a wee bump to remind folks that this is still a live GB proposal, and to attract new participants into the fray fold :-D

We'll be aiming for a November slot, commencing on the 5th (a Saturday) to coincide with the anniversary of French and British paratroops being dropped into the canal zone.
Any subject at any scale will be permitted provided that (if necessary) provenance of it's involvement can be provided
Best wishes
