Lesser Represented Countries GB *** Done/Archived ***
Earlier this year we had a very good GB for countries which don't get greatly represented on the model shelves or show tables.
http://uamf.org.uk/viewforum.php?f=318;
The title was a tad mis-leading and understood so hopefully this title is better.
This is the idea, with a few changes from the last one;
1. This is a GB to acknowledge the small or lesser represented countries - extra kudos for the more obscure they are.
2. The main six [UK, USA, Germany, Japan, France, Soviet Union but allowing pre & post CCCP Russia)] are excluded as they are usually well covered by us in models.
3. One model to represent a smaller country, perhaps two if they changed markings during their history, eg Finland - Blue swastika to 1944, blue/white circles -1944 to now.
4. Also to be included British Commonwealth countries with their special symbol. eg Australia with a red Roo, but not an RAF type roundel.
5. Any model subject as long as it can be clearly seen to be of that lesser represented country.
6. Only one modeller and one model per country - a modeller can do as many countries he/she chooses but no-one else may do that same country then. As there are around 160 counties and only a few of us there are plenty to go around. The idea is to do as many of these lesser known countries as we can.
7. And here's the twist for this one; you can't do the same country as you did last time. ie I can't do Czech, Finland or North Vietnam.

Re: Lesser Represented Countries GB
This was such a success last time, and your rules are so well-laid out, how can one not join in ?
Add me as a tentative (May is OK, June better - I have the "Conversion" GB as priority), and I'll TBD the country for now - I am thinking a Harvard/Texan or Tiger Moth, but I could go way off the beaten track ...

I really enjoyed this last time we did it. May might not work for me so please mark me as tentative for now.

Count me in. Prefer May but I'm an easy going soul so go with the flow if not.

Re: Lesser Represented Countries GB
I enjoyed this one last time so am keen to join in again, maybe with another obscure Spitfire user.
May or June would be better for me.

Re: Lesser Represented Countries GB
Great, welcome aboard chaps.
Main list in the first post is now up-dated.
9 players already.
Some countries now spoken for.
>>>>>>
I've now added a Poll to choose a month.
The Poll is open for two weeks. You have one vote, which you can change.
The early part of the year is filling up. So far May only has the Conversions GB.

Re: Lesser Represented Countries GB
Much like Craig said re. the Harrier GB and the Cold War SIG. I do have to fill some bits of the SMW display next year so this GB could be an enjoyable way to achieve this so count me in. Tentatively, I'll say Kazakhstan for the moment.planecrazyman61 wrote:i'll join if it doesn't clash with d/storm or harrier GBs ,probably do a L39 Albatross in latvian markings which i'm building for the cold war sig or an austrian draken

Fred, does your Belgium in brackets mean it's only a possible? I've got a Nieuport and some Belgian decals that I'm itching to do
