It would be great to have you aboard! Any ideas what you might build?
Last year we had a horrible summer, so had to flee like a stung bee to the warmer climate. Global warming... what's that? :-D

Actually, I've no idea what to build. I haven't been in the room in ages, so can't remember what ship kits I have.
Confused as always, and somewhere in hiding on the Scandinavian peninsula...

I will set this GB up this coming weekend, sooner rather than later.
Please start to gather your flock.

I was to use this GB to get my CBK builds done, but I am so far behind now that I'm not sure what I will do -- I need to review my commitments.

Hi Paul

I plan to convert HMS Warspite back to her looks at Jutland, the only problem is the kit I intend to use is a mixture of two part build kits, that I picked up on e-bay.

As my intentions are to break up the kits back to their componant parts and throw away the majority of the superstructure, before scratch building it all, are you happy for me to carry on using this GB or should I use the CBK thread?

I'm still undecided about my choice; I have a few RN types in 1/350, Fearless and Belfast in 1/600, an MTB in 1/72 and (soon to arrive) a Revell (ex Matchbox of course) 1/72 Corvette Platinum Edition....oh and HMS Victory in 1/180

Query: is the MTB outlawed as it is a launch and not a ship?
Best wishes

Iggie the old Matchbox kit is a nice but big kit, the detail OOB is a bit soft and lacking and you have to scrape off all most of the wooden deck moulding as apart from the forecastle, bridge and very small parts of the rear deck, the decks were steel.

The platinum edition should add all the extra detail that Matchbox missed and make it a very fine kit, spot on for R/C.

Hi Splash,

I already have one of the Revell Corvette kits, half built and so badly so that it will quietly be buried at sea upon the arrival of the new kit
How this will be achieved without arousing the 'interest' of Mrs iggie I'm not sure yet; honesty (or at least some honesty) may be the best policy :-D

The platinum boxing extras will help to lift the kit detail greatly, and although there are a number of widely documented inaccuracies still present in the current boxings, I'm not overly fussed as it certainly looks like a Western Approaches Corvette, and that's good enough for me 8-) . I am tempted to build it as HMS Compass Rose :)
Best wishes

I will, at least, use the GB to start my HMS Iron Duke.
Whether I finish it in time will be seen.

Can't recall if I expressed an interest in this GB. Perhaps building a ship might help me rediscover my modelling mojo
