North American P51 Mustang GB *** Complete & Archived ***

Post by iggie »

Following on from the revival thread (here http://uamf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=13062) could those interested in participating please choose a month for the build from the options listed, and then confirm they have voted and any particular reasons for their voting choice.

To recap the GB proposal:
any scale, any manufacturer (kit that is  ), and any mark of P51 North American Mustang, including prototype or developmental, or that served with any airforce in any theatre of operations or war.....the only exclusions are WhIf's

You (or the sharp eyed amongst you will anyway) may notice that June is missing from the options available; I'm going to be away for two weeks of it and Mrs iggie will not be best chuffed if I'm chipping in to support everyone during the build from my sun-lounger  :-D

I voted for March, but I'm open to other suggestions. Simply put - the Mustang is so beautiful that I wanted to glue them a few more :)

Thanks to all have voted so far; there are just a couple of people who had expressed interest to vote and then I can wrap up the poll and ask John to do the necessary regarding calender etc.

Thanks to ALDI in Cirencester I have, today, obtained 2 of the Mustang IV 'starter' sets for a reasonable £4.99 each. I have yet to decide which way I shall jump for the decals though (these will doubtless cost more than the kits!). Vote cast.

Ok, it would appear that we have a majority decision for July so if I can propose dates of Sat 2 July - Sun 31 July I think we are in a position to ask John to add this GB to the calender.
Unless anyone has any objections I will contact John accordingly in the next couple of days
Thank you all for your votes

Re: North American P51 Mustang GB ***ON CALENDER***

Post by iggie »

Ok Chaps (& Chapesses), all systems go for the 2016 North American Mustang Group Build :-D
We are now on the calender for Sat 2 July - Sun 31 July, so now's the time for sorting through the stash for your entries, or perusing the online stores for new additions; the more the merrier!!

Bonus points will be awarded for multiple entries (lets face it the New Tool Airfix P51 is really bordering on Bitzbau fodder) and larger scale entries will be more than welcome :-D
Some nice nose art will be lovely to see (preferably on the Mustang and not on the builder, but..... ) as well as any less well known schemes.

Looking forward to welcoming you to my first GB as leader in late June, don't be shy!!
Best wishes
