Skyraider GB,take two.
Daz proposed a Spad GB that attracted sufficient interest and no real fixed date. After he had to recuse himself it kind of petered out. If the original folk are still up for it, register interest and we can run a new poll, as the GB calendar has changed significantly. And if not, we can look to the shared builds for Able Dog fun.
Edit: Poll attached. there's only eight who've expressed an interest thus far, so if we can't get this locked down we'll try to get an SB organised instead.
Cheers

Re: Skyraider GB,.take two.
Just a thought but this might be better posted in GB chat?
I'm interested though!

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Have to be late in the year for me.
Enjoyment over accuracy. That's my motto
Re: Skyraider GB,.take two.
I'm still interested in this. Bought the old Airfix A-1 that I built many years back, thought it would be good to re-do it and see if I've improved!!.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

Still interested, but as I would be doing the Tamiya 1/48 Spad, I would prefer a June/ July time that didn't clash with any other GBs

Just invested in one of those, too.. plus a special piece of ordinance from Brengun, if you know what I mean! I guess we'll just gauge interest, see if a time can be agreed and if not no harm, no foul. We'll build them in our own sweet time!Purplethistle wrote:Still interested, but as I would be doing the Tamiya 1/48 Spad, I would prefer a June/ July time that didn't clash with any other GBs

Re: Skyraider GB,.take two.
I am definitely still interested, i even bought an old Airfix kit to build for this. I'm pretty flexible about timings too.

Conveniently enough, I think I do know what you mean , the only thing is, yours is the Air Force Spad boxing, does that convert to a Navy bird (tailhook, etc.)?Arcwelder wrote:Just invested in one of those, too.. plus a special piece of ordinance from Brengun, if you know what I mean! Re: Skyraider GB,.take two.
Yup, it's got the tailhook and as far as I can tell, the A-H and A-J are otherwise externally identical (Tamiya say that the A-H had improved internal structure and stronger undercarriage). Guess there could be payload differences too.. I'm sure I'll find enough to go on

Re: Skyraider GB,.take two.
I'd like to do this as well, if I can dig up a reasonably priced Tamiya Able Dog. I did one a few years ago.
(counts on fingers)
Wow. Nine years ago. Time flies.

Would ya like to learn to fly? Would ya? Would you like to see me try?
