forum 10th Anniversary G/B *** Complete/Archived ***

Post by Gregers »

Hi folks. Just been re-reading the forum 10th anniversary meet thread in 'small talk' It was suggested by SirT that maybe we should have a 10th anniversary G/B for those who can not make the meets IMHO a good suggestion btw).
I think maybe a G/B with the connection being the number 10. (A10 Warthog, Meteor PR10, A car with race number 10. In fact anything real world with the number 10 connection would fit the bill.
What say you folks?

All the best.

Good Idea.
Although I'll be able to make the April date I would still like to take part in the GB.
Would a Russian Aircraft with the number 10 on count?

As long as it's real world then it's fine. An IL10 would be perfect, and cold war too so double bonus for you there Adam mate  . The only exception to real world I suppose would be sci-fi. lets see what others think though so ideas please folks. Is the number 10 idea worth running with?

All the best.

I'm for it.
I was thinking along these lines at the weekend but refrained from proposing it.
Sci-Fi is awkward, but I'd suggest if its based on something in a film/TV series/book/comic and not just got a 10 slapped on it.

Agreed Fred. re-the sci-fi bit. I've just had a look around the net for an Airfix or Revell DC10 in 1/144 specifically for this but have had no luck. I have other stuff in the stash that will suit though. Like the Hobbyboss NAW10 ,the 2 seat A10 tankbuster but I have that set aside for a 'what if'. There are plenty of subjects to go at without resorting to an aircraft or whatever that happens to have a 10 on it.

A10
IL10
de Havilland DH 10
M10 Wolverine Tank destroyer
Russian CJ10 missile with truck or aircraft launcher
CJ10 Jeep

There are many more to go at.

All the best.

Nope. you can never......
I may get an A10 from work for this but it's more likely I'll try for something a bit more esoteric or little seen here. I'll go up to the stash room.....er I mean loft later to have a look.

All the best.

Wellington Mk.X, Bf-109 'Yellow 10', 1968 LeMans Ford GT-40 #10; all these kits available from the likes of Eduard, Fujimi, and Trumpy.
Nieuport 10; Wildcats and Hellcats numbered aircraft 10 from the carriers. There was a land based, yellow winged Dauntless of VB-5 which carried the code 5-B-10, being aircraft #10. All of these are just examples thought of as I type.

Also the Chipmunk T10, Balliol T10 and Harrier T10 in fact any MK10 aircraft.
We're well on the way to get the needed numbers here folks. I'm leaning towards the idea of doing a Wellington T10. For Hunter fans there's always the Hunter FR10.

All the best.

Ok Greg thats cool, my idea was the ESCI Tu-22 with the Number 10 as the Aircraft number as my Tu-22M will have 22 on so both will mean something.
