1/48 DVII acquired and decals sourced, so I'm a definite whenever it's ready to go.

VickersVandal wrote:It seems like merging it into Air War certainly won't work for a number of these builds so it's best to keep the concept as-is. I'll do another roll call closer to the time to make sure we still have the numbers.
I sincerely apologize if these questions seem dumb VV, but I'm still fairly new here and there are so many group builds (and posts) that I'm a bit confused regarding this one.

The goal is to build a Fokker D.VII kit?

Scale and kit is our choice?

Time frame is Spring 2018?

Is this correct?

Again, my apologies for asking - I just may want to join in if I can.

You are right about everything except the timeframe pmmaker, this is open so post-war machines and modern survivors/replicas and museum aircraft can also be included.

Thanks lancfan. I guess my question is when does this group build occur? Am I safe to assume it will occur in the spring of next year? If it already occurred, then all this is moot. But if it will occur in the spring, I'd like to participate if that's okay. I have a couple of Fokker D.VII kits in the stash and there are many readily available locally.

Vickers Vandal is the GBL so he is running things and can answer that question better than I, it is being held next year though.

Love to have you join, pmmaker :)

As lancfan has said, correct on all counts.

Timing wise, my original suggestion was May/June 2018 but that overlaps with the RAF GB which I think it would be preferable to avoid. July/August might be the way to go.

That's great VV. Count me in!

A summer build is better for me as I'm a school teacher and I'm off for the summer. Since I hand paint all my own lozenge camouflage, the more time I have, the better. I'll just follow this thread to find the time frame once you settle on it.

I have several 48th scale kits and decals in the stash ready to go. I may add a 72nd scale kit since I've never built one for my 72nd scale WWI collection.

Just popping up to the surface on this one. July/August still seems to be the best option. I will be travelling for most of July so that would be a problem for me to be GBL. Is anyone willing to put their hand up to be GBL or to go halvsies?

So, latest roll call on this one:
Daz
Lancfan
fredk
Purplethistle
Gadfly
Brickie
pmmaker
Vickersvandal

I know it can be annoying, but can people confirm with a yes or a no that they're still in? I think we should be good with the numbers but it's smart to check.

Excellent. Thanks, people - especially to Lancfan for stepping up.
Hopefully others will be able to confirm soon. I'm taking it as read that pmmaker is still keen given the most recent posts in here prior to roll call. Dazdaman is a group building MACHINE so I'm almost certain that will still be a yes.

That makes the following absolutely confirmed:

VickersVandal (GBL)
Lancfan (GBL)
fredk
purplethistle

And the following pretty darn certain:

pmmaker
dazdaman

Looking forward to this GB, simple build with little or no rigging and lots of different colour schemes to go at.

Oh yeah, I forgot about this one.

Count me in. I've got at least one D.VII in the stash to be put together.
