Cargo Haulers Group Build *** Postponed until 2017 ***
Have we ever had one of those? I was thinking any transport aircraft but I guess cargo ships or trucks too.
Anyone interested.
6 week build time scale. Any scale. Land, sea or air vehicles welcome.
I will leave the poll open for 10 days.

Re: How about a Cargo Haulers Group Build
This sounds like a good idea, with a nice variety of possibles!
I might (I said might mind you ) get my Revell A400 out for this.....
(And then give myself a severe ticking off for being silly and put it away again.... )
Count me in

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

No, we have not had a Cargo-focus GB and it's a good idea, and a bonus if we open it to air, land, sea.

*looks at Amodel 1/72 IL-76 kit on Hannants*
*estimates cost of inevitable divorce proceedings*
You know....how about instead I just consider the Junkers F-13 bush cargo plane already in my stash....
Put me down as interested.

Wow, a good idea. Not something I'm usually accused of.jRatz wrote:No, we have not had a Cargo-focus GB and it's a good idea, and a bonus if we open it to air, land, sea.
I keep doing the exact same thing with my Revell C-160. It's a beauty of a kit but massive! That's what got me thinking about a group build.iggie wrote:I might (I said might mind you ) get my Revell A400 out for this.....

Sounds like we may have enough interest to make this one a go if we can get a few more takers. So far we have:
OT (me)
VickersVandal
Kitaholic
Iggie
MarkyM607
Jratz (maybe)
Dwomby (maybe)
Clashcityrocker
TomW (maybe)
Brickie
planecrazyman61
MDT
AndrewR
I was thinking of making this a six week build as some of these subjects can be on the large side. Would that be OK John?
We could include Transport helicopters too.

Re: How about a Cargo Haulers Group Build
Done that one!, it's a good kit although the windscreen was soft plastic and didn't fit well. Ended up cutting it into five pieces and adding each on separately. Otherwise recommended. Looks dominant on the shelf too!.Kitaholic wrote:Transport helicopters? Better start fondling the Mi-26 again and pray for some mojo
On a side note, I have the A400 plus a C-17 and an An-124 so I'm in!.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

Re: How about a Cargo Haulers Group Build
I imagine we could find 6 weeks, let's see how it goes.
Put me down as tentative, depending on timing. I think the few pure transport kits I have tend to favor passenger but that's OK, I'll find something in there.

Good man. Passengers are simply 'Specialist' cargo.jRatz wrote:I imagine we could find 6 weeks, let's see how it goes.

Or 'self-loading' (and in the case of the various Parachute Regiments, self-unloading as well )Old_Tonto wrote:Good man. Passengers are simply 'Specialist' cargo.jRatz wrote:I imagine we could find 6 weeks, let's see how it goes.

Depending when and how long, I could be up for this one. Lots of RAF cargo and passenger transports that never come to the top of the stash.
