I will do this so count me in. I will follow the crowd.
Besting 60 years of mediocre building of average kits in the stand off scale
Re: A6M 'Zero Fighter ' GB proposal
Any chance I could add my name into this one? The zero has always been my second favourite aircraft behind the spitfire

Timing's good, so I'm up for this, too. Never built a Zero. Ever.

Just wondering something.
I have two Zero kits in the stash (Frog and Hobby Boss) and I was kinda hoping to add two more planes to the movie model collection:
Pearl Harbor
The Eternal Zero
(There are several Zero schemes in this film, so it might not be this one)
Would they be allowed?

Hi,
The remit of the Zero GB is pretty wide covering the Claude, Zero, Rufe and Sam. When I added these I did so as I know when it comes to GB's people like lots of choice and to build something different. So the 'Zero' GB covers 4 different aircraft in service from pre ww2 to 1945.
I also know that folk like to build 1/72 scale on UAMF and could envisage lots of Airfix A6m2's possibly being built.
So the GB isn't lacking in scope or opportunity to build something interesting or different.
So I'm not sure we need WHIF or Movie star schemes. Or 'Zero' like types /conversions being built in the GB. Given the reasonably wide scope as it currently sits.
Cheers

That's fair enough. I have another scheme in mind anyway for the Frog Zero, at least. It was just a query.

Folks,
Just a reminder that the Zero GB is now not too far away.. remember as well as the A6M and its variants the GB also allows the A5m and A7M as well as the Rufe.
So a few days to dust off the kits in the stash or grab something from the LHS or online retailer..
Cheers

I will open the forum this coming weekend, a week out, unless you would like it sooner.
My original plan was to build a Guillow's rubber-powered Rufe but I am too far behind with other projects to do that now and so I'll just watch from the sidelines.

It's my model and I'll do what I want with it.
