If you intend to do the very long nose version; don't use the very long nose parts, but the shorter one.
John, of Aeroclub, measured them up and found Matchbox over compensated on the nose.

AFAIR; John found; the longer of the noses is 15inches more from windscreen to tip. So Matchbox made the nose piece this much longer. But the 15 inches is because the windscreen/canopy on that version is shorter and further back, which Matchbox supply. The physical length of the fuselage of both versions is the same.
Thanks for that,
I plan to go for the NF11 as I have some photos of 29(F) Sqn aircraft.

Yes, rotten how life gets in the way of the really important stuff - like this GB. As of now, it looks like it will be just next week so I shouldn't lose to many days. Put me down for the Matchbox Phantom. I know its inaccuracies but I fancy one.

Fred,
All my own fault I know (going off on holiday for 2 weeks!!!), but the decal disaster prior to departure and my weekends being 'not for modelling', I am wondering if you might be prepared to consider giving me a little extra time to complete my entry for the GB. Fully understand if that is not possible.
