Operation Pedestal, with Spitfires ...
Original thread title: So.... another Spitfire build next year?! so the next couple pages make sense ...
After all, you can never have too many!
Any kit, scale, variant etc. So long as it's a Spit, it's allowed.
Anyone?

Actually, yes, you can have too many.
We have had one a year since 2012 and the Edgar Brooks Memorial GB this year made a nice culmination. The GB Guidelines, para B.3, discuss our desire to refine overly broad subjects to a more limited scope and this seems particularly appropriate.

If you're desperate for a fix Daz, I'm relinquishing my proposed RATO Seafire for the Winkle Brown GB to concentrate on a couple of Winkle figures and Winkles MG so any of Winkles Spits or ....err... Seas?! are up for grabs

Seafires. That would be different: The Spitfire that went to sea. Sounds like a good book title.

Yes when faced with the prospect of no Spitfire GB let's have a Seafire GB instead...
That's creative.....
It's a lovely iconic aircraft and all that but crikey another Spitfire GB.
If you were a member in different forums I reckon you could build 20 Spitfires in 12 months as GB entries if you picked your GB's wisely...
It's not a subject that lacks GB scope...

Just out of curiosity, how many have you built in the last 12 months, Daz?

Umm....
A few?!
I would have to go back and check, but it's bound to be more than what's on the forum!

I would be up for a Seafire build.

I have two in the stash - one partly painted (though no building done as yet) and the other unstarted.jssel wrote:I would be up for a Seafire build.

Re: So.... another Spitfire build next year?!
The lack of a Spitfire GB would not preclude building a Spitfire for a GB - you just have to think of a suitable theme that would enable you to build a Spitfire. How about, for example, a build for the 75th Anniversary of the Dieppe Raid, or the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Alamein? Both have wide scope for entries (air, sea or land), including - gasp! - Spitfires.
