Airfix Hawk SKGB? bbbb
Hi all,
It seems to have been a while since we did a Single-Kit GB, which are always fun and interesting to see so many different results with the same plastic. Be nice to find something with a decent range of aftermarket/conversion options, and a fairly low-cost "pocket money" kit. Maybe something like the Airfix Mustang or of course my favourite, the BAe Hawk...
Any thoughts?

Re: SKGB?
We've only just had a Mustang GB, but the Hawk is a great suggestion; it ticks the low cost box and even if built without after-market items, there are scores of attractive schemes for it to be built in.
I'm up for a Hawk GB

Re: SKGB?
The new Airfix Hawk, in both standard and later series versions, would indeed be a good one - you should formally propose it, Brickie. I suggest that you change the title of your thread to reflect this. I'd be in.

OK, I've changed the thread title so we'll see how much interest we get. I would suggest the T1 rather than the 100 series purely as the kit is cheaper, but am generally open.

Re: Airfix Hawk SKGB?
I was thinking the T.1 which tends to be the cheaper version - there are various boxings including the Red Arrows and black/Midnight Hawks, but AFAIK it's the same basic kit.Gadfly wrote:Which kit? Airfix have made a few different versions.

Probably best just to name a kit or kits that are acceptable.Brickie wrote:I was thinking the T.1 which tends to be the cheaper version - there are various boxings including the Red Arrows and black/Midnight Hawks, but AFAIK it's the same basic kit.Gadfly wrote:Which kit? Say A03085 and A02005C.
Unless it's ok to build Airfix Hawks generically.
Cheers

Re: Airfix Hawk SKGB?
Yes, I think we want to fix on a particular kit rather than Hawks generically as that's kind of the point of an SKGB - but I wasn't sure exactly which boxings are and aren't the same kit with different decals, so was being deliberately vague...Gadfly wrote:Probably best just to name a kit or kits that are acceptable.Brickie wrote:I was thinking the T.1 which tends to be the cheaper version - there are various boxings including the Red Arrows and black/Midnight Hawks, but AFAIK it's the same basic kit.Gadfly wrote:Which kit?
