This would probably have been best suggested a few months ago as a Holiday Season mojo builder....but I've only just thought of it!
A GB for planes, boats or vehicles but with warplanes and vehicles wearing civilian colours and civilian planes or vehicles pressed into military service?
For simplicity I'll just use aircraft in this example. The plane must have been originally in service or of a type designed for war but is now in civil livery. The civil types must have served in a peaceful role, or have been designed as such before being used in conflict.
For example a Speed Record Spitfire or a DH Rapide in RAF colours.
Aside from aircraft there could be ex military trucks now used as civilian breakdown wagons or Standard Beaverettes - a civilian Standard Beaver car which was converted to a basic armoured car at the start of WW2

That raises an interesting point! Does a build based on a published work of fiction count as a Whiff? Just off the top of my head - Major Easys Bentley from the comic strip.
I would be inclined to allow published fiction inspired subjects and rule out made up subjects (much as I hate to stifle creativity!)

Yeah
However, there were a number of civilian-operated Spitfires following WW2, with one of the first being this one:
