Ivan Mikoyan memorial MiG GB?

Post by Brickie »

Spotted the other day that Ivan Mikoyan had died the other day.

Wikipedia says:
From 1953 he worked in OKB Mikoyan as assistant chief engineer, chief engineer for flight tests, and as the leading designer for MiG-21 family of fighter aircraft. In 1965 he was appointed as the lead designer on the MiG-23 fighter aircraft, and the technical director of joint state tests after 1968. Starting in 1973, Ivan was deputy chief designer for the MiG-29 fighter aircraft.
So it seems to me like a GB covering MiG-21, 23 and 29 might be a good plan?

I'm in on this. Also I recommend the book 'Memoirs a military test pilot and with the Kremlin elite' by Stepan Mikoyan. for insight on the Mikoyan family.

All the best.

I shouldn't think you've got anything suitable. And elephants are yellow!!. :ha: :ha:
I wouldn't mind building one of my MiG's, would a -25 or 31 be acceptable?.
(I thought Mikoyan died ages ago?).
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

Artem Mikoyan did pass away a long time ago. Vano was his nephew who took over his position at Mig.

I'm up for this, the MiG-21 is a must, a double build alongside the MiG-23 but might cram in a MiG-29UBK too.
