Sure, as long as it's from the 1960s. For example, you can do Frankie Valli, just not with the afro from the 1970s.jRatz wrote:So, just to be all-inclusive, we could also open up to figures ?

The F-111F was produced between 1970 and 1976 which disqualifies it for the build. However, you could do a F-111A that entered service in 1968. If your heart is set on RAF Lakenheath, you could do a F-100D Super Sabre of the 48th TFW. The 48th TFW flew the 'Hun' from the Heath during the period beginning in 1960 (When the USAF was kicked out of France) until 1971 when the unit converted to F-4D Phantom IIs. The F-111F began replacing the F-4s starting in 1977.MarkyM607 wrote:I might go for an F-111 for this depending on when we do it, and whether I can wait that long!!. I want to do an 'F' model from RAF Lakenheath as my Dad and I spent many hours watching the F-111's sitting on a bit of heathland in line with the end of the runway. You could feel the car vibrate when they took off and you could get some great head on shots as they came in to land.

Darn . Didn't check on that! . Perhaps the F-100 is a good idea, I think I've seen the Hun that is on Gate Guard (or was). Have to check if I've still got one in the stash. Chuck, you keep suggesting good resin weapons I then have to buy, then scupper my intentions!!!.Chuck Finley wrote:The F-111F was produced between 1970 and 1976 which disqualifies it for the build. I will suggest a seventies build later on. However, I just did a check at Hannants and Xtradecals has a F-100 sheet (X72116) with the following subjects:MarkyM607 wrote:Darn . Didn't check on that! . *Grows horns and a pitchfork appears in hand* You know you really want to do a 'Heath' F-100 or two for a sixties build. Then, you can do a 'Heath F-4D and F-111F for a seventies build.

And if you wish to continue on a 'Heath' run, Xtradecals has the following sheets for the 48th TFW:MarkyM607 wrote:Darn . Didn't check on that! . If it included 1960s war films, I'd be in.

To be pedantic; the 1960s are from Jan 1st 1961 to Dec 31 1970.
We don't start counting from zero, but from number 1, to 10 etc

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

But in this case, it's simply a popular frame of reference, not a strict enumeration of decades/years, and certainly common enough usage. I have enough trouble counting backward on my toes to keep the 1800's in the 19th century, etc ....fredk wrote:To be pedantic; the 1960s are from Jan 1st 1961 to Dec 31 1970.
