Anyone fancy a Shelf of Doom ? ** SB open ***

Post by IronMan129 »

Hey all.
I've been trying to take part in various group builds but with life at the moment I'm only finding very small moments of modelling time so the best way forward is to go for a shares build.
So does anyone fancy a "finishing up shared build"?

I'll let you know depending on how I go with the B-36. But I have others I could 'finish up'.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

I'm looking at my bench right now and have a Matchbox F-5B that has been hanging around half done for years.

Just needs painting really. I'm planning in doing it in Turkish markings.

Not sure Mav, never done one before. Do we all have to agree on the same subject?

Would suit me. The rest of this years looks like low speed work (with perhaps the occasional burst of speed), and I have literally dozens of projects sitting in the "must finish this real soon" bin.

Don't know. Don't think so, really, as long as we have some common ground. Then again, 'finishing up' might be considered too vague for use :???:
There is also considerable overlap with the "I've Started, So I'll Ruddy Well Finish!" section http://uamf.org.uk/viewforum.php?f=98;

The SB/GB Guidelines for SB state, in part: "..a place to seek out other like-minded members to build something together, whether it is the same kit, same theme, whatever, it is up to them ..."

"Unfinished" is a theme, the similarly named forum is for individual efforts, nothing stands in your way ....

It's my model and I'll do what I want with it.

There's a poser... It seems kind of silly to me to drop a current project onto the Shelf of Doom just to make time to rescue another project from said shelf :???: Ideally, that would imply starting this one as soon as (one of the) current projects is almost done. Speaking strictly for my self, that would mean two to four weeks in the future is the perfect spot to reactivate some dormant work.

Anytime but a few weeks would be nice. I have noticed the 1/400 or 500 Titanic I have sitting on the shelf. It was built for the 100th Anniversary of the sinking, although as with GB's I left it late and finished construction late on the actual night of the real sinking!!. Therefore she's not even painted!. I would like to paint her and add aerial wires between the two masts, things like that.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

I can start whenever you want Mav. I have just about completed my F-5 duo but have several options at various stages of completion.

How long do we give ourselves?
