If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Re: Bomber Build GB Poll Thread
Having just finished the Airfix Avro Vulcan in Anti-Flash White with a Blue Steel missile hanging from the bottom, I'll be building the new Airfix Victor bomber. I also have a old Airfix Canberra B6 i am tempted to build as well.
On second thoughts, let's not go to Camelot. It is a silly place!

Re: Bomber Build GB Poll Thread *** On 2017 Calendar ***
Right now, my 1st choice is the Williams Bros 1/72 Martin B-10B.
I have the original release boxing, so a 1974 kit.
I had grander plans, but this is simple enough that I should avoid the DNF.

Ok folks, it's official! We're on the calender for a six week build starting 17th June to 30th July. Time to round up your kit(s), paint, decals and glue ready for station lockdown and briefing before the mission commences.

Middle of June works for me.
I have settled on an Airfix 1/72 Buccaneer in South African markings. (assuming I can find it! )
With a couple of resin bits to correct a couple of shape errors.

I've got a few options for bombers - Heinkel, Lancaster, Mitchell.
Might be something that can even join the movie model collection!

If by "find it" you mean source a kit to build I do have the South African decals left over from my Ark Royal build of this model, if you cannot find the correct issue of this kit then you can gladly have my spare decals for use with an earlier release of the kit.Old_Tonto wrote:Middle of June works for me.

I'm still torn over my choices - CASA Heinkel, Dambuster Lancaster, or B-25....!!

Thanks for the offer David but I have decals. I meant that I put it 'in a safe place' and can't quite remember where that is.lancfan wrote:If by "find it" you mean source a kit to build I do have the South African decals left over from my Ark Royal build of this model, if you cannot find the correct issue of this kit then you can gladly have my spare decals for use with an earlier release of the kit.Old_Tonto wrote:Middle of June works for me.

Put me down as a probably on this. I'm considering building my Roden Gotha G.V for a WW1 display in my local club at the end of the year. This GB may enforce the discipline to get it done and the 6 week time frame will increase the likelihood. I will see how I'm doing for time on the current Camel GB.
