Anyone fancy an Airliner S/B G/B? *** SB Completed ***

Post by Gregers »

As the title says anyone interested in an Airliner build? I was going to suggest one for the Airfix Skykings range but that may limit participation. It is for any manufacturer. Any scale as long as it flies and carries fare paying passengers (or self loading freight as an ex gf who was a stewardess put it)

All the best.

ME ME ME

I need an incentive to actually build an airliner and COMPLETE it as well.

I have in mind some sort of classic airliner from the 50s or 60s.

I like the theme but there was one in late 2015: http://www.uamf.org.uk/viewforum.php?f=324;

GB guidelines say not less than 24 months apart, so I'm guessing it would need to wait 6 months or more.

I had forgotten about that one. If there are enough people interested now I can always resurect this thread at the end of the year.

All the best.

I obviously missed the 2015 build. Oh well - I'll have to find some other excuse to build an airliner.

Surely an airliner must have been mentioned in some book or other and could be put in the 'One for the Books' GB if you wanted?

There's always the option of a shared build. I would be up for that. I also think that airliners in military service should be included though not tanker conversions. Pure transport types.

All the best.

Not sure how a shared build works.

I think (and please correct me if I am wrong here) that it is fewer participants and more leeway with timescales.

All the best.

Sounds fine to me. I presume we can pick our own subjects to the chosen theme?

Yep. I have quite a few to go at. From the Airfix Heron to the Airfix Big Orange. Even a York conversion is in the pile. A Lancastrian would fit the bill too. As would passenger carrying helicopters.

All the best.

Once I have my current build completed I might very well embark on a 1/144 airliner of some sort.

Looking forward to this now. My current build is "kind of" in this territory although it's in 1/72 (a NASA C-47).

I have quite a few 1/144 airliners in the stash so I will be a using the "eenie, meenie, miney, mo" method of selection, I think.

I have the NASA C47 to do too. To be honest it was one I was considering. I think though I will go 1/144 Airfix.
