I looked through the stash and have a number of development/prototypes that meet the "wore RAF colors" criteria, might swing that way instead - show another side.

I also took a wander through the stash. I'm surprised I have more RN than RAF, and my RAF mostly comprises the usual Spitfires, Hurricanes, and Defiants. The Moth Queen Bee on floats is what I was hoping for something different, but that's RN. Commonwealth aircraft in the RAF won't do either, as that could be a GB by itself.
Come the time, I may have to resort to an RAF Willys jeep. Or the bomber support vehicles. Or maybe a Hudson Mk.III.
It's still early for a final decision.

Thanks Gents.
That's 14 of us now - Cool!

Still not sure of what I'm building, but I have a load of options in the Stash (I think I may give the A400M a miss :-D ). So far I'm looking at either a brace of WWII Fighters in 1/48, a Revell Euro-Tiffie, or a couple of Tornados... mmmm (or a DC-3)

Great stuff, that is a very promising list of participants. My entry will be an example of one of the RAF's most famous aircraft that I've never built a model of, why I've never done one I don't really know so this GB is the ideal opportunity to right that modelling wrong!
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Work is the curse of the modelling classes!

I’ve been prowling around on the thread for awhile just watching all the build up to start of it and got to thinking I might like to sign up. You got room for one more? I’ve got a Boulton Paul Defiant in the stash. I’m thinking I’d like to get it built. It came as Dogfight Double Giftset. So I’ll still have the Dornier to do later.

After lengthy agonizing and doing some poking about, I will do a theme in 1/72, maybe even as a vignette - The RAF in the Middle East in 20s-30s.

I have plenty of Silver Wings of all sizes & shape in resin, vac, and styrene, from little fighters to lumbering bombers and transports but right now I am narrowing down to the Hawker Hind/Hart family.

I also found the Roden 1/72 Rolls Royce Armored Car kits and that solved the theme/vignette dilemma and allow me to do something like the RAF Regiment guarding an airfield.

I am not sure how far I'm going to take the actual vignette part of it, I'll need to dig up some chaps in shorts and sun helmets I suppose, but I'm not happy that I have the theme worked out.

Just a question regarding Diorama/Vignettes; when does one become the other and vice versa? :???:
Best wishes

In my world ....
-- a diorama tells a story the meaning of which is obvious to the viewer without explanation other than perhaps a title.
-- a vignette is just a scene containing several elements but does not, by itself, tell a story.

That sounds fair enough to me 8-)

I will be doing at least one vignette for this GB, which might develop into a diorama :-D
Best wishes
