I going to try a conversion of the old Airfix P1127 Kestrol. in the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton they have a modified Kesrol that has a set of Harrier GR3 wings, so I plan on using the Airfix P1127 & their new Harrier GR3.

I'm in with an original Renwal "Twin Forty" in 1/32 scale (M42 Duster). I plan on building it as a National Guard vehicle from the 1970s in MRDC camo.

Not seen that kit before. Sounds like an interesting markings option too.

I've got this on my display shelf. It's a fun kit to build and more fun to weather. I don't seem to remember it having any vices. I'm going to enjoy watching you build this!

It is. I built a later release (white box) when I was in elementary school and my dad was stationed in Germany. The best part of the kit was that it was the same scale as the green army men! :)

I have the Revell M-47 re-release sitting on the shelf and it's still fun to depress the main gun and watch the commander and loader pop out of the turret.

Revell rereleased it in 2014 as part of their limited run SSP line. Renwal had a line of 1/32 scale armor including the Atomic Cannon, Mace Missile and Teracruiser, M-47 Patton, Lacrosse Missile, M-53 self-propelled howitzer, M-50 Ontos, and M-41 Walker Bulldog. I am waiting for Revell to re-pop the Sky Sweeper anti-aircraft gun.

Cool. I have a few Revell re-pops. Namely the bridgelayer tank, the Corporal and honest john missile sets too.

All the best.

Autumn is good for me, too, cause this summer I´ll sit on the shelf of doom together with my dear Caravelle (apart from other typical summer leisure activities  )
The kit I´ll butcher to make a not-so-golden( :-D ) oldie is Heller´s MiG-21.
I already fear it´ll become a DNF, the angle of its wing roots is very strange, if I leave it OOB, the wing would serve as one big air brake
...So I´ll chop up the fuselage to change this :frown:
----> I´ll show you a pic of this OOB state later!
Waiting for the day, when wars for territory will be something to be read about in history books only.

Playing Tetris taught me: If I clean up too much, my kits disappear.....8-(

See what I mean with strange looking wing roots:
kit is un-started, just held together by sellotape:

Image

and now a look almost straight down the thrustline of the kit, from the tailpipe to the front:

Image

Apart from making the root of the wings more de-inclined, I want to build it as much OOB as possible,
cause I like the "special charm" of this kit, with it´s fat fuselage (with these looks put into 1:1 scale, it would have
NEVER lifted off the ground  )
I think the designer of this kit wanted to address the too small fuel capacity of the early -21s, by redesigning the fuselage to accomodate more "drink" for the engine   :-D
...another example, how "arbitrary" my like / dislike for kits happens:
I binned most of Heller´s Hellcat, but this one, which is a lot more off the real shape, I still like!

MiG-21-kits in general fascinate me! and this one looks so different from other MiG-21-kits out there.
....a true Heller original

Renwal kits were a staple waaaay back then -- much of their line was modern (50's - 60's) armor at the time.
I did the Atomic cannon, Skysweeper, the Twin 40 Duster, the M53 SPH, Ontos, I think that's it. Of them, the only one to tempt me these days might be the Skysweeper .... Some years later, again waaay back, late 1974 IIRC, our unit installed an Atomic Cannon on a hill, across I-70 from Marshall Field, overlooking Ft Riley, KS.

It's my model and I'll do what I want with it.

I'm shocked Daz. No Matchbox Spit MKIX in the stash? That would fit the bill perfectly.

All the best.
