Rare and Golden oldie G/B

Rare and Golden oldie G/B
As discussed in the Small talk thread who is up for a rare kit G/B? Any kit that was produced pre 1980 is aplicable as long as it is now quite scarce and is a pre 1980 boxing of the kit. For example a bagged Airfix Spitfire MKIX is ok but a late boxing isn't. It's the rarity and likelihood of making a kit collector sob that is the thing here. Extra cudos for taking to the razorsaw and converting the oldie.

How rare is rare?
I have some Airfix bubble packs and baggies that seem hard to get now and go for silly monies on ebay and with s/h dealers.
I can rip open a few of these for a GB

Pre-1980, original "boxing" -- I'm sure I have some.
I'll probably join in, timing/workload dependent.

Well, that's my Hasegawa Heinkel 51 out of the running, but I have plenty of older kits for contenders.

I've got a G-91 in a blister pack/header card, would that be old enough?. Always been a favourite the G-91 so would be nice to actually get around to building it!.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

I'm sure I've got something that qualifies so as long as I can find a suitable kit I'm in
Best wishes

Re: Rare and Golden oldie G/B
Any bisterpack Airfix qualifies. I too like the G91. I should have got the MENG one that came with US Army markings when we had them in at work. I am thinking post Telford for this build. That way it gives plenty of time to source something.
It looks like we already have enough members to call this a go.

Re: Rare and Golden oldie G/B
As you said int he other thread, it's a pre 1980 boxing then that's fine. some collectors go for certain periods. I have one in the stash someplace. one of those I bought on a whim many years ago at Telford.gnomemeansgnome wrote:Well, that's my Hasegawa Heinkel 51 out of the running, but I have plenty of older kits for contenders.
