Modern (ish) Aircraft GB?

Would anyone be up a modern aircraft GB? (Fixed wing or Helicopter - civil or military)

So what I'm thinking is it doesn't matter about the date of first flight, but the subject had to still be in service post 2000.

E.g. an Air Atlantique DC-3 would be acceptable.

Happy to be flexable (ish) on markings is make life easier, as long as they're representative - i.e not tied to a specific post 2000 aircraft, but the scheme has to correct (does that make sense?)

What do think?

Cheers

Stuart

Possibly a bit broad ranging as a subject? Any aircraft flown for the first time after 2000 would makes it a lot more specific and I would certainly be up for that

TBH Iggie that was my original idea, but then I thought that given the general lack of interest in modern things by most people; it might be better to open it up to just aircraft in service post 2000 to widen the appeal (and give a interesting mix of types).

The other problem with using first flight dates is that most of the modern frontline aircraft today probably DID fly first well before the end of the 1990's.

Just my thoughts :-D

Would it be limited to aircraft only?

Happy to include non aircraft but I'd rather keep it post 2000 - as that was kind of the point.

Most of the types flying in the 90's are still in the air anyway.

Cheers!

I'll say yes (though depending on timing) with an A10, F-16 or SU-35.

Any GB with "ish" in the title should be automatically disallowed.

"current front line a/c" would be a better theme.

Well then you'd better well "automatically disallow" it, because quite frankly, after the day I've had I really can't be doing with totally humourless and completely pointless comments like that.

Consider it canned.

Could this not be merged/run alongside the RAF 100 in 2018 GB?. Those wanting to do something from 100 years could do so, while others could focus on the RAF in the present day (2017-2018). I know there is a post Cold War GB suggested but just thought I would put my money's worth in.

I considered the title just to be a working title and the outline a suggestion to be thought over and discussed

I'm minded that in 2003 a TV company did a programme on my car club. All our cars are pre-1936. The title of the programme was '65 and still going'

Perhaps a title of something like 'Oldies still working'
Anything built prior to 2000 [or even earlier] but still earning its keep after 2000 [or even later]

Museum exhibits excluded; it must be working for its keep
eg A Ford Trimotor flying tourists over the Grand Canyon is in
M18 Hellcat tank destroyers, built 1944, used in the inter-Jugoslav states wars until about 2001/02
