Shared build Concorde or SST.. *** SB is Open ***

Post by Gregers »

As the title says, is there any interest in a Concorde shared build? Or an SST shared build? That would include the TU144 and proposed Boeing SST.

All the best.

I could be persuaded..... I have the Airfix 1/72 offering lurking about somewhere!
Best wishes

Welcome aboard guys.
Same here with the 1/72 kit. I have a set of BOAC decals to go with it. Also have both ICM TU144 kits and NASA test decals for one of them. On the way is an Airfix 1/144 Concorde for Greg jnr (I really ought to open him his own membership on here)

All the best.

I will look into that before this shared build starts. Just want to add though that what if's are not only allowed but activity encouraged. Years ago I did an Airfix Concorde in Wardair colours. They were one of the companies that ordered the type but cancelled their order. I personally think one in Pan Am colours, or better still American Airlines would look superb.

I was going to ask about what-if colours. I think I have a modelling mag with an article on the potential users of the aircraft, will dig it out if allowed to do one. I also have the Airfix 1/72nd scale kit.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

Greg jnr's Concorde arrived yesterday. I need to get up in the loft to dig my build out. I saw a part (badly) built Air France Concorde on eBay for spares/restoration. I was tempted. Greg's model will be built wheels up so I could use those and scratch the engines but decided against it. I may go the TU144 route after all.

All the best

Ok. I got some time in the loft. I dug these two out. If I do the Tupolev I will do this one as an Aeroflot aircraft (I have another to do as the NASA test one) the Airfix Concorde will be OOB.

All the best

Greg.

A slight change here folks. Greg jnr saw a model Airbus A320 in my stash. One I had set aside for a what if maritime reconnaissance build. He ssked if he could do that instead of the Concorde. So he is pulling out of yhe shared build but I will be building the Concorde ss well as mine. I know I want to do it as a what if but am undecided as to what. I have narroed it down to two choices. Both RAF.

All the best.

I just received my 1/144 Concorde in this mornings mail.
For a change I happen to have all the paint call outs on the bench. That’s a first for me!
I’ll be ready to start anytime.
