Is there any interest in a group build covering any aircraft powered by either the Rolls Royce or Packard built Merlin engine? Basically, it would allow any aircraft in any scale or nationality that was powered by the Merlin engine. Possible entries would include the Hawker Hurricane, and of the Merlin powered Spitfires, Avro Lancaster, HP Halifax, Boulton Paul Defiant, Curtis P-40F/L, North America P-51 B/C/D/H Mustang. On the other hand, if you want something different, there is the Boulton Paul Balliol or even a Canadair North Star.

Intriguing idea. Add to the list the Mossie. Bouchon Beaufighter, Wellington and a few others. Also there are the Rolls Royce R series engines that were develloped to the Merlin.
I may be up for this.

All the best.

We can also throw in some tanks that were powered by the Rolls Royce Meteor, since it was a modified Merlin. The Centurion and some others come to mind.

I believe they can also be found in the Unlimited racing boats, maybe also some drug-running 'cigarette boats'..

A unlimited racing boat would be allowed only if it was proven to have used a Merlin. For example:

Slo-mo-shun V (from 1954 on, 1954 Gold Cup winner, first for Merlin power)
Miss Thriftway (converted in 1957, 1957 Gold Cup winner)
Hawaii Kai III (1958 Gold Cup and National Champion, first Merlin powered National Championship)
Miss Thriftway/Miss Century 21 (Gold Cup 1961-1962, National Champion 1960-1962)
Miss Bardahl (Gold Cup and National Champion 1963-1965, 1967-1968)
Miss Budweiser (Gold Cup 1969-1970 and 1973, National Champion 1969-1972, 1977)
Atlas Van Lines (Gold Cup 1972, 1977-1979, 1982-1984, National Champion 1972, 1976, 1978- 1979, 1982-1983
Pay 'n Pak (Gold Cup 1974-1975, National Champion 1973-1975).

It will depend on specific boats. As long as you can prove that the boat had a Merlin it's allowed and welcome. I was thinking about converting the Revell DC-4 that I picked up yesterday to a Canadair North Star/Argonaut. The decals and engines are out there and it will be something different.

I already built my Buchon. Special Hobby 1/72. However, I just happen to have the new Revell of German Spitfire Mk.II in 1/72, the new Airfix Spitfire Mk.Va in 1/72, and from the recent Eduard 1/72 line the Royal Quarto Spitfire Mk.IX (four kits), Aussie Eight (two Spitfire Mk. VIIIs), and the Spitfire Mk. XVI combo. Then, there's the Boulton Paul Balliol and Defiant sitting my stash. I plan on working on the Eduard Mk.IX quartet this week.
