Yes, I'm in for this one. I have some ideas already.

Good to see the interest in this proposal; we have a while to go before any commencement so I'll bring it to the top every now and again as a reminder to those interested and to bring in new participants.
I'm thinking a start date of the beginning of September 2018 which will give 10 weeks and a day for the build(s).
Again, any subject/scale/genre/medium including what-ifs as long as it features a poppy in some way.
Oh and another thing; for every completed entrant I will donate £2 to the Royal British Legion. Anyone fancy match-funding?

No but it does involve a Mk4 Rhomboid tank.

Just bringing this back to the surface again as a reminder for those already intetested and to bring the proposal to the attention of newer members; the gist of the idea is to build something that includes a poppy or poppies as a remembrance build for 11.11.18. Any subject, any kit, any scale. Starting beginning of September and running for 10 weeks to finish 11.11.18.

Ok, we're official now, John has agreed to put this on the draft calender commencing 1st September and running through to 11th November.
Hopefully this will give people plenty of time to think of an idea; for instance we visited an art gallery yesterday which had a small sculpture of two infantrymen raising a poppy along the lines of the famous photograph from WWII of American servicemen raising their flag on Iwo Jima.
The poppy doesn't even need to be a deliberate part of the build, it can just be placed alongside a build with some relevance to the anniversary of Armistice Day.
As I mentioned when I started this proposal, it would be nice for us as a forum to mark this important anniversary by using our creativeness.

This is a fantastic suggestion. How did I miss it before?

Mine will have to be a Great War build.

Did lots of thinking about this GB and came up with...nothing. The idea is great, but I'm not creatively motivated. I think I'll be sitting this one out.

Time is marching on, just under three weeks until the start of this GB! Don't forget, for every completed build I will be donating £2 to the Royal British Legion (match-funding always welcome!).
It is entirely up to each entrant as to how creative or otherwise they wish to get, the only criteria being that the finished build has to feature a poppy in some way, no matter how contrived. WHIFs are not just allowed but positively encouraged!
