Small scale big model build anyone?

Small scale big model build anyone?
Just testing the water here but would anyone be interested in a build for 1/72 or smaller scale large models. For size I would suggest as examples in 1/72 bigger than a Lancaster and 1/144 bigger than a 707. For ships anything longer than 12 inches / 30cm. Not sure where we would go with armour / vehicles though. Obviously a six week build would be the best bet for this. Over to you good folks.

you want me to build my AWACs don't you.......
I could be persuaded, but I'll need to think of somewhere to put it!

Nope. The only thing I'd be interested in building that would fit your given criteria would by my Academy B-29A Superfortress, and I have no desire to build that one at present.

Sounds interesting. Got a number of possibilities in the stash.

Cheers for the input guys. Mav, go on, you know you want to. PMmaker, this probably won't run until next year some time. I have the Academy B29 too. A great looking kit. So is the B50 I have too. They are two of the models I am considering if this gb goes ahead. Iggie. I dare ya. LoL I am also considering one of my big Boeings but not sure what yet. Maybe a KC135. or my NASA 747 IN 1/144.

Thinking about it for some projects that fit this build eight weeks msy be a better bet. Will have to run it by John as gb co-ordinator if eight weeks is ok. If this happenes as a shared build though that isn't a problem.

Bigger than a Lanc you say? Well I guess I might have to do some shopping. I may have to look at 1/144 for thisas all my small scale stuff is 72 scale. Even at that I don't have anything bigger than a Lancaster. Some prowling on the evil site is in my future.

Re: Small scale big model build anyone?
I’m going to say ya to joining in. I’ve got a Williams Brothers 1/72 C-46 begging to get built. I’ll have to scrounge some new decals for it as the one I have areold yellowed and very wrong color wise. I’ll cross my fingers for an 8 week build, as this is a beast of a kit and it cries for attention.

Is a Shackleton bigger than a Lanc? If so that might be my entry rather than an AWACS and a matrimonial moment
Best wishes

Re: Small scale big model build anyone?
The Shack certainly is. Which kit?.
Out of curiosity wouldn't it be an idea to convert 'The Great Escape' into a flat top to house your aircraft models? or would that create a bigger 'matrimonial moment'?

I would probably join in too. I have a few in the stash that would fit the criteria.

How would this work for naval subjects? Most tend to be in a small scale anyway.
