Would airliners be allowed? I'm thinking this would fit nicely into the "inquired into" category. Cancelled orders and public statements of interest would seem to make this a ripe area.

No, the other one with the red stars and things! (sniggers at the thought of only just post-Cultural Revolution era technicians trying to keep an aircraft flying that was a daily maintenance nightmare for trained western personnel)

Certainly - in fact it could be made for Airliners. For instance, the Alitalia Concorde that was inquired into but never progressed. There must be hundreds of potential projects under this category.

This idea certainly sounds like a good prospect Rob. The more I think about it the more possibilities I come up with.

Very interesting idea - So would something like the new tool SR-53 kit in RAF colours be acceptable - or does that count as a paper project?

IMO, it's a perfect example. Two prototypes were built and moving along in their testing with reasonable favorable results when the plug was pulled in favor of a missile defense. Definitely past the "paper" stage.

Sounds like what happened to the AVRO Arrow, which I would be receptive to throwing in the ring if this Build becomes a thing.

Thanks John.

Another one I'd always wanted to build is an Bae EAP in RAF service markings - Never been able to find a kit though.

The Israeli Chieftain would be good; reminds me of the story that the IDF were testing one when the six day war broke out- the FO contacted the Israelis and told them they were testing the tank too close to the border- the reply came back "it is alright, we have moved the border."

There is the old Pegasus kit, not stunning perhaps but a start. I think Freightdog Models re-released the kit under their Silver Cloud label. I did have two of the former so if you want one I'll see if I still have two.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

Enough interest to justify scheduling?

Sounds like a poll is needed to finalise a date. Might get more people confirmed once that is done.
