Re: Blitzbau XXII
I have a possible date for my inaugural blitz; February 10th.
No choice of subject yet......

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Re: Blitzbau XXII
PropWash I normally have this problem, I normally take the "wimps way" by doing it in 2 12 hour stints but even then I don't get it done half of the time, I wont give up though and vow to take part in every Blitzbau going.
Re: Blitzbau XXII
I am sure glad to hear you say that Mav. I love the Blitz.

Good news Iggie, look forward to watching. Let us know when you have decided on a subject.iggie wrote:I have a possible date for my inaugural blitz; February 10th.

I can announce that the Blitzbau House will be open on the 2nd.
This will be a straight 24 build, subjects to be decided. Hopefully myself, Cosmic and Spaceowl will be bodging plastic whilst our host Paul will provide the venue and entertainment.

@Propwash. My wife and daughter are pretty understanding. But I try to pick a time I am “batching” it.

Not picked a date yet, but my subject will be a proper Typhoon, by Hawker.
Which kit hasn't been decided -- Airfix NT, Frog, or CMR.
I'll open the Forum up in a day or so.

Re: Blitzbau XXII *** Forming now for 1 Feb start ***
Mav and Jeff: Thank you for the encouragement. This does sound like something really different and fun to do. Looks like I need to shop for a "fly by night" model if I am going to do this.

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

My theme is Fly by Night because I am doing a night fighter in solid black. Wise to pick a good fitting kit. Few parts. Easy paint scheme. At least until you get the hang of it. And use the four P’s theory. Get it all figured out prior to gluing.

Re: Blitzbau XXII
I'm having 2nd thoughts, recognizing that I need to be cognizant of my health issues and may not be able to push the envelope as I have in past Blitz'. Better drag the 3 kits out and think this through.jRatz wrote:Not picked a date yet, but my subject will be a proper Typhoon, by Hawker.

My wife's birthday is the first weekend, I could give her a completed Typhoon. Yeah, that sounds like a plan

Re: Blitzbau XXII *** Forming now for 1 Feb start ***
If I am going to do this I shopped for something fitting the theme and looked like something I could complete in time. I just ordered an 1/72 Matchbox Armstrong Whitley Meteor Night Fighter. Looks rather cool too.
Re: Blitzbau XXII *** Forming now for 1 Feb start ***
I just want to make a clarification here. You, the builder, decide on the kit to build. My personal theme is Fly by Night. Just so there is no confusion.
Looking forward to February 1st.

Ah! Thanks for the clarification. Still happy with what I bought , and the deal on a second model too. I may change it up when they arrive.
