I'm told I need an assistant group build leader, would anyone care to volunteer for that job?

RAF Mustang? 8-)

And the Spitfire decals have been extracted and are now on the Wagon Train, should you need them.

I might do a Mustang. I have the Academy P51B Old Crow I can convert to an RAF bird should I not find anything else.

Ok it's official I have a problem. I spent the evening going through my books and the web looking for a suitable subject for this upcoming group Build. I've never had so much trouble coming up with a subject before. Anyway while searching I came across the book Typhoon and Tempest Aces of World War 2 from Osprey. Chapter 3 of this book is all about the Rhubarbs. So it was decided that I'd dig out my Airfix Typhoon which I had purchased for a POW aircraft.

Here comes the problem. While searching I came across two Academy kits which I completely forgotten about. Now this may not seem like a problem to some of you here but to me this means that my stash has gotten so big that I no longer have any idea what I have anymore.

Ok enough about my problems on to the meat of this post. Rather then going out and buying ANOTHER kit I now have three to choose from.

Airfix Hawker Typhoon 1b with the option of building an aircraft from either 183 SQN or 247 SQN

Image

Academy Hawker Typhoon Mk1b with the option to build an aircraft from 193 SQN

Academy Hawker Hurricane MkIIc with the option to build an aircraft from either 3 SQN or 87 SQN

Image

Does anyone know if any of these work or will I need to get some after market decals?

Oh I also have the Academy P-51B Mustang

Image

I'm not sure of the RAF squadron decals for this kit. I forgot to look.

Need a little clarifcation on what constitutes a 'rhubarb' raid.
Specifically - Is it only a 'rhubarb' if carried out during daylight?

I ask because I have the Airfix 1/72 Mossie Mk.II/VI/XVIII, which builds into either a NF version or FB
After a little research I've found that NF versions were sometimes stripped of the nose radar, but left in their overall black, and used for cross-channel roaming night-time 'intruder' raids against ground targets.
The kit icludes decals for NF, DD712 - of which I've found online reference that it was used in this manner from 1944 until the end of the war.
Does this count as a 'rhubarb'? - or am I gonna need to re-think?

Its good, thee kinds of raids were usually made it what is normally considered bad flying weather, such as rain and low overcast.

Night fighters flying on radar had no problems doing them under such conditions, so you are good to go carlos.
