I haven't had much luck with GBs on this site other than the Blitzbaus but the Swordfish is one of my favorite birds. I have a Matchbox and Revell copy in the stash but am looking forward to the new Airfix kit. Still want to do a Taranto bird (any good pics of the torps with fins for these?), Bismark attacker and maybe one of those black ones with the radar underneath.

I'd like to come in on this one too if I can find scheme details for a Swordfish as seconded to Coastal Command. I think they went Midget Submarine hunting toward the end of the war. If I recollect correctly there were some in all black schemes.

Update. I've just found the scheme of the Swordfish I want to re-create. Luckily I can see a 1:1 scale scheme on the actual aircraft (Fairey Swordfish III NF370) as it's been restored at Duxford about 1hrs drive from my home:

Incidentally the article was written by a former friend and school classmate of mine, what a strange co-incidence...

OK, a 1/72 CBK Swordfish GB, then - Frog (Frogspawn), Airfix or Matchbox (Revell). This can still be a SAMI article.

Since I'm getting the revell kit, the one I will build is an ark Royal plane that attacked Bismarck.

I'll do a Taranto machine, if I can find some good references - serial/code tie-ups for example.

Nothing in my library is of much use, unfortunately - I'll have to do some internet research.

Great links gentlemen. Not sure which one I'll do yet as the decals in this release are old and brittle. Red B serial HS158. Cat number 285 Code number 02005-1. First Airfix box that I have seen with a punch out hanger on the side of the box.

And you know, the rigging doesn't look that hard to do.

Looking for a SAM right now where Alan Hall did a bit of scratchbuilding to dress up the interior on the Airfix kit. When found it will scanned and made it available to all.

Before I forget. That is the Stringbag I will build. Any idea on the unit or history?

Calling Google, come in Google.

I expressed a desire to do the FROG Swordfish, with floats.

However, given the no-duplication rule and that I've already done one, if someone else would like to do that, let's chat ....
