Anti-shipping is the most popular, with either Spitfire or P40 as the runner up.
Battle of Midway possible for 2012.

Since we have a Rhubarb GB already scheduled, that caters for Spitophiles :)

Should we focus on whether there is sufficient support for Antishipping GB this summer? August?

Cheers

Andrew
Can we wait till the poll runs it course before we make a decision?
Sure, your poll has only been up two days ... there's no rush ... some good ideas coming out here to file away for later ...

Thank you john, it just feels like its being pushed to find a subject and date right away. A suggestion was made for August for the build date which I was going to suggest anyway. If there is a rush we sure can block off the calender now and let it wait for the subject to be determined :)

Or this year... :) We're not that tough.

But we can only have so many GBs running concurrently, and the AFV builders will want to get in on the action too.

Cheers

I think the idea is to throw out some ideas and see how it goes. This poll allows multiple choices. But we would need a specific poll for an individual GB, if there is sufficient interest, that is true.

Brews wrote:As these ideas are all reasonable, why is there a poll? I'm not against it, but surely, Dirk, you're not trying to pick a winner. For a GB to get on the calendar, you simply need enough people to say "I'm in", doesn't it? Or is the poll your way of recording numbers, because it doesn't do that (there is no name to go with the number)?
I'm not sure I'm following. The poll is to find out which of these subject would draw the most interest at this time for a group build. In the past I would make a suggestion and because it didn't have enough interest it would not happen. I've found that if you have more to offer it usually generates more interest.

My goal is to have a group build with as many people as possible. I hope i'm not violating any rules again?

The idea of a poll is useful Dirk, but the choices are very simular to builds going elsewhere or about to within the forum. I picked P-40's and Close Air support because I could think outside the box in my modeling.

But hey, if you wish to mod a GB, go for it. You only need six. And two catagories meet the that goal already.

As GBC, I don't mind a poll to test the waters, culling down several suggestions. We have done a similar thing in the SKGB thread, just without a poll (until very soon). Dirk, we can chat sometime about taking this to the next level.

Meanwhile everyone see my newly stickied post about conducting polls ...

Dirk,

I would be happy to participate in a nightfighter or century series GB....if you host them. I don't want to host anymore of these things. :)

I voted for the Spitfire GB as I'm planning on doing 4 spitfires very soon so they might as well be done in a GB. Though I wouldn't mind doing a P-40 GB either.

Cheers,
Paul

Brews wrote:I'll pass on these. I'm currently doing the "Captured Equipment" GB, which, to be honest, lacks the sort of encouragement that GBs are supposed to provide, and I have the Swordfish, Pearl Harbour and Luft '46 GBs to look forward to - and that's if I don't blitzbau in August. I'd be happier to see a Box Art GB.
Brews, I don't know what the outcome of all this will be. I've seen your work and should this transpire into an actual build your presence and skills would be missed.

I'm curious and I hope you can help me understand this better. What is it about the Captured Equipment Group Build that is missing regarding the encouragement? The reason I'm asking is how can future group build moderators avoid what you are or should I say aren't seeing?

If it helps, I would normally be dead keen on a GB like this as it has tons of scope for both whiffery and 'cross'dressing' models but I am on the road for the next month and unable to build as glue and paint are non-nos when flying...
Please critique my posts honestly i.e. say what you think so I can learn and improve...
