Future GB Poll #2 -- genre other than aircraft

Post by JohnRatzenberger »

I am trying to set up a long-range GB program, starting in 2012, but that's not to say an idea might start sooner if there is high interest. This is one of several polls/queries I will put up and we'll chat about them to see what comes up. As always, if you respond to a poll, please provide a post to discuss your choice and reasons therefore. Comments that indicate what you would like to get out of the GB are most welcome as that helps me in the next stage of proposals. I want to stress that we are not signing up for a pending build, rather surveying for what might be of interest. The poll will remain for 14 days and you may select as many options as interest you.

In this poll I am trying to solicit interest in some non-aircraft GB's. I know we have had two 'almost-started' armor GB's but they haven't made it yet. The postings in the various Modelling threads are equally bleak, not even at levels of the old forum, and I am hoping this effort may help.

Once we get soime top-level interest, we'll try to work up specifics ....

I have some armour stuff to build, and I enjoyed building the Cruise ship Aida, so I selected those two options.

I've got a few armor kits in my stash looking for a reason to be built.

I also have been toying around with building my Queen Mary into the gray Ghost. ;-) .

Arni also has me thinking of building a car or two... I guess what I'm saying is I'm open to just about anything except figures.

I have some ships cowering int eh stash that I'd like to hook into, a number of potential scifis and whiffers, and could scare together some armour/land equipment to build if called upon to do so...
Please critique my posts honestly i.e. say what you think so I can learn and improve...

I've ticked Ships, ('cos I have some and subs in particular), AFV's, (as above), Sci-Fi and Trains, (again, as above).

I'd happily do any other than ships (but even that at a pinch, though mine would have to be a square-rigged sailing ship, and hence might take a while!). I voted for cars and figures, on the basis that I'd like to see more of those built and I'd be happy to try to encourage people who DON'T dabble in those genres out of their comfort zones, and Sci-Fi, because I'd like someone else to help me out of my comfort zone with some of those SW and ST kits in my stash!

bestest,
M.

I've chosen ships, as it's a subject I haven't build for decades, and I have a few languishing in my stash.

I voted for cars and bikes and for AFVS as they're both things I would like to build but need the kuta factor to actually do them. The two wheel and civvy cars GBs from last year were good, we have a few secret car and bike modellers here.

I voted armour and sci-fi of course as they're my usual build subjects any way, but I also ticked figures even though I normally am not interested; I actually have one buried in the stash looking for a reason to be built.

I didn't tick cars but on reflection I could give it a go. I have one or two suitable items in the stash for that, too.

I ticked armour cause i wouldnt mind actually trying a tank for once, made a few things like saladin which i enjoyed alot, and also ticked ships never built one and have thought about building HMS Belfast once or twice before so would give me a reason to do so :)

I have a couple of ships. Or are they boats? I can never get it straight.
