Hmmm, there are more than enough Airfix tooled Spitfires and Seafires without including the Otaki gull wing free zone I would have thought.

Good point Steve - I'd forgotten about that thing....... :omg

Perhaps we should limit it to Airfix-tooled kits?

I would have thought so Paul, anything tooled by Airfix (so the Eduards would be fine for example) out of the box or kitbashed however you like. Off the top of my head, the only things you can't currently turn out in 1/48 by cross kitting Airfix boxes would be the XIV, XVIII, XIX, F.21 and Seafire 45. Of course, if we had a XIV all that would change...

I followed the crowd and went for "any" as my interests, and thus my stash, tend to be pre- or early war -- that is, the I/II and V ....

I'd be up for this sometime next year. It'd be an excuse to build one of the 1/48th kits I occasionally buy and then store (but never build).

If not the XII, I could also try to do something reasonable with the Seafire III. However, in my opinion, if its in an Airfix box then it should be allowed. Not that I'm biased (although I've got an Aeroclub gull-wing insert for the Spitfire VIII and the decals look nice . . .) :-D

regards,

Martin

No one has a clue when the "new" Airfix Spits will hit the States so any 1/48 Airfix Spit works for me.
