Heller 1/43 Peugeot 203, kit ref 160

The car
The Peugeot 203 was a medium sized car that looks to have had design inspiration from the Chevrolet Fleetline Fastback. It was the first monocoque bodied car produced by Peugeot and production ran from 1948 to 1960 with a total of 685,628 units produced.
The car was first released as a four door saloon only and later as five door estate (commerciale) and six seater (familiale) with three rows of seats, these models had the wheelbase lengthened by 20cm. The engine remained the same on all models, a 1290cc 4 cylinder engine that underwent improvements during it's production to increase the hp output.
The 203 was also the first Peugeot car to be produced in Australia in 1953.

The kit
This is the earliest boxing of this kit which was produced around 1979 and supplied in a lid and tray type box. There are 4 sprues included (2 red, one chromed and one clear) plus the bodyshell making up 36 parts in total (latest boxing states 40 parts so not sure if anything has changed).
The kit represents the best selling four door saloon version and has both raised and engraved detail which captures the external detail of the real car quite well. Interior detail consists of seats, dashboard and steering column with wheel only which is quite adequate for this scale.
Decal sheet only has plates for front and rear stating Peugeot 203, no other decals supplied.
Paint callout numbers are for Heller enamels.
