The car
The Renault 4CV was a economy car that was produced from 1947 to 1961 with a total of 1,105,543 units produced. It was built as a 4 door sedan and 4 door convertible with either 747cc or 760cc Ventoux 4 cylinder engine in the rear. The car was designed during the war in anticipation of meeting transport demands in France after the war ended, the prototype was shown at the 1946 Paris Motor Show with production beginning the following year.
In 1953 underwent a makeover, gone was anything considered a luxury, the tyre width got reduced, the dummy front grille got removed, seats were simplified and spokes on steering wheel reduced from 3 to 2. In addition the car was only offered in grey. This version of the car was called the "4CV service" and lasted just a year in showrooms.
The 4CV was produced in Spain from 1951-1961, in Japan where it was called Hino Renault 4CV from 1953-1961. It was also marketed in Australia where it was called Renault 750 (747cc) or Renault 760 (760cc), it was imported there in both fully assembled and kit form with assembly done in Sydney.

The kit
This is a more recent boxing of the Heller kit that first produced around 1980, it comes in a lid and tray type box. There are 4 sprues included (3 tan and one clear) plus the bodyshell making up 40 parts in total.
The kit represents a pre 4CV service version as it has the dummy grille and 3 spoke steering wheel. It has both raised and engraved detail as you would find on the real car. Interior consists of the usual seats, dashboard, steering column and wheel which is adequate for this scale.
Decal sheet has plates for front and rear stating 4CV Renault, there are no other other decals included.

Colour callouts are for Humbrol enamels.

Instruction sheet too large to scan, sorry.
