EMHAR LAGG-3 1/72

Post by wbk666 »

This kit comes in a standard end opening box with everything contained inside in one plastic bag
Image

Instructions are a single side of A5 but its a simple kit so i think its all thats needed
Image

On the flip side are the painting and decal isntructions, options for 2 aircraft
9 IAP Black Sea Fleet Air Force fown by Lt. J. Shtshipov or a Baltic Fleet Air Force craft
Image

Decals seem simple but fine
Image

The kit comes on two sprues or grey, quite brittle feeling plastic, Detail (what little there is) is mainly fine raised lines. There seems to be very little flash.

The canopy is a one piece affair which doesn't look to be the clearest quality
Image

Seeing as the cockpit is lacking any detail barring the seat and control stick this pilot might help fill a space once he's cleaned up.
Image

Overall it seems like a simple kit that shouldnt prove too difficult even for a novice. (i'll let you know how that goes on later though) ;-)

I bet you've done a FROG before, though. ;-)

So are the EHMAR and FROG kit the same kit?

I believe so.
The LAGG-3, Anatra Anasal, MiG-3 and Yak-3 were some of FROG's last kits, commissioned by the Soviets and sold under the Red Star label.

They do...and I believe it's a reflection of their quality.

Hi wbk666,

Don't worry about the lack of surface detail, The full size was an all-wood airframe so there isn't much detail to show.
I have been after a couple of these for some time, one of my LMS tell me that the manufacturers say they are out of stock.

Hmm, got to get me one of those. I did the Emhar Mig-3 and I liked it a lot.

It was either this or a misstress. In the end Airfix turned out to be cheaper...

I purchased a FROG test shot from Alan W. Hall in 1980. Still haven't built it!

It gets about, this kit, doesn't it? Actualy, I think it catches the rather crude look of the original very well
