Well I've seen the reviews on other sites and seen the odd build, of these Roden early He111.
Nice box art, with one scheme option, a Chinese version.
Nice instructions, or "The Model's folding order", paint references for Humbrol, Revell, Model Master, Gunze Sangyo, Tamiya and Aeromaster.
Lots of internal detail.
Detailed undercart bays.
Multi part engine nacelles.
The decals looked washed out, and are just blue and white, would the prop blade logos be blue though?

Re: Roden 1/72 He111a
There are six sprues, including one clear sprue..
two of the sprues are a tan/brown colour and the other three are a light grey.
Some very fine surface detail on the wings.
and fuselage bottom insert.
Lots of interior detail..
A little bit of flash.
Bomb bay and armament sprue, lots not used in this option.
Fine mg detail, a touch of flash.
Clear sprue looks clear, and are quite thin.
So there we go, it looks good in the box, the mutli part nature for different versions looks like care is needed. Will it be a beast to build?

In my eyes one of the most handsome variants of the He.111 family.
Any chance you compare this one to a standard He.111H in outline and form?
I've got a project in mind to alter an old one from the "to save"-pile into a "C"
Nice one!

Re: Roden 1/72 He111a
Thanks Bruce, did_nev I like these early ones too, there are some plans here http://109lair.hobbyvista.com/111/lounge111.htm;, but I've also seen the wing planform changed quite a bit. I've got an Italeri He111 and a Frog one in the stash so I'll dig them out and do a couple of wing comparison piccies.
Cheers

Re: Roden 1/72 He111a
I've read somewhere the interior helps with the forcing the exterior to fit.. oh well I shall find out.
did_nev, here' some comparison shots with the Italeri He11H
Wings:
Certainly a bit of work to the leading and trailing edges to make an earlier wing out of a H.
Fuselage:
Everything lined up on the fuselage, a new nose and geting rid of the ventral gondola would be the major there.
Of course there would be engines to deal with too.
During my playing about I've noticed the Italeri wings fit the fuselage cut outs of the Roden..
Cheers
